How the System Works
The 83013 kit creates a Pondless® (disappearing) waterfall: water flows down a natural rock streambed and disappears into a gravel-covered in-ground basin, where it is recirculated back to the top of the waterfall by the AquaSurge pump. There is no open pond — the water reservoir is completely hidden below grade.
- Basin: Excavate and place the AquaBasin® 45 (45"×45") in the ground at the base of the waterfall. The pre-cut liner and underlayment are sized exactly for the AquaBasin 45 footprint.
- Pump: Place the AquaSurge 2000 GPH pump with the Low Suction Intake Attachment in the AquaBasin 45 pump access chamber. The basin provides quick-access to the pump for maintenance without disturbing stone.
- Plumbing: Connect the pre-cut 1.5"×15' flexible PVC pipe from the pump to the 22" Waterfall Spillway at the top of the waterfall.
- Spillway: The 22" Waterfall Spillway Diffuser (#77000) distributes pump water evenly across the full 22" spillway lip, creating a smooth, consistent water curtain. Place boulders and decorative stone around and on top of the spillway to conceal it.
- Stream: Build a natural rock streambed from the spillway down to the AquaBasin 45. The waterfall foam and silicone (included in the Installation Kit) seal the rocks to direct water down the stream and into the basin.
