EasyPro HBK3KSL 3-Keyed Basalt Column Fountain Kit – Complete Bubbling Rock Water Feature w/ Basin, Pump & LED Light

The HBK3KSL is a complete Tranquil Décor keyed spillway basalt fountain kit. It includes three genuine natural basalt columns — approximately 6", 12", and 18" tall at 8"–11" diameter — along with:

• RBH29 Redi-Basin (24"W × 29.5"L × 13.5"H, 30-gallon, 300-lb rated)
• MP155 Tranquil Décor Mag-Drive pump (155 GPH, 5W, 115V, oil-free, built-in adjustable flow control, 1-year warranty)
• LED8B light kit (one barbed LED ring with transformer and 10' cord, mounts in tallest column)
• 3-way splitter + plumbing kit (all tubing and fittings for a complete installation)

The two taller columns (12" and 18") have spillway key-cuts in the stone; the smallest 6" column serves as the base overflow into the basin. Each column is core-drilled 1¼" end-to-end; the tallest column's last 1½" is enlarged to 1⅜" to seat the LED ring. Basalt columns only (no kit) are available separately as HBK3K.

Because these are 100% natural basalt columns, weight varies from set to set based on the specific stones selected. EasyPro does not publish a fixed combined weight because the size, weight, color, and number of sides will vary by nature.

The included RBH29 Redi-Basin supports up to 300 lbs with its two integrated center support columns — provided the basin is installed on a level, well-compacted base. We recommend confirming a solid, stable foundation before placing the columns.

The HBK3KSL features 100% natural basalt rock — genuine volcanic stone quarried from the earth. Unlike GFRC (glass fiber reinforced concrete) imitations, each natural basalt column has unique textures, coloration, and keyed crusts that are impossible to replicate artificially. Natural basalt will not fade, peel, or lose character over time.

Because these are natural stones, each kit will look slightly different in size, color, and the number of natural faceted sides. This variation is a hallmark of authentic natural basalt and makes each installation one-of-a-kind.

To protect the fountain during freezing temperatures:

• Remove the MP155 pump and store it submerged in a bucket of water in a frost-free location. Never let the pump freeze dry.
• Completely drain the RBH29 basin to prevent ice expansion from cracking the reservoir.
• Remove any water from the core-drilled holes in the columns — standing water freezing inside the 1¼" core can crack the stone from the inside.
• Cover or store the LED8B transformer indoors for the winter.

Natural basalt is frost-resistant and can remain outdoors through winter. However, because the columns are core-drilled, it is important to keep water from pooling inside the holes during freezing conditions. A foam plug or temporary cover over the column tops prevents accumulation.

The kit includes a 3-way splitter that distributes water from the single MP155 pump to all three basalt columns simultaneously. The MP155 pump has a built-in adjustable flow control knob that lets you dial the overall pump output up or down, controlling the volume and sound level of the entire feature.

Because the three columns are fed by one pump through a splitter, the flow to each column is proportionally linked rather than independently controlled. For most installations, this creates a naturally balanced cascade. The MP155's built-in control gives you good range to find the right flow level for your space.

Yes. The LED8B light kit is specifically designed by EasyPro for use with the Tranquil Décor basalt and statuary fountain line. The barbed LED ring seats inside the 1⅜" housing socket in the core of the tallest (18") column, where it is protected from direct exposure while illuminating the water flowing over it.

The kit includes a low-voltage transformer (10' cord) that converts standard household current to safe low-voltage power for the LED ring. The transformer should be positioned in a weatherproof location outside the basin.

Note: only the tallest column is illuminated by the LED8B. The 6" and 12" columns do not have the enlarged 1⅜" light socket and are not lit by this kit.

The RBH29 Redi-Basin is designed for in-ground installation. Dig a hole slightly larger than the basin's 24"W × 29.5"L footprint and deep enough to allow the lid to sit flush with or just below ground level (basin is 13.5"H). The interior clearance with the lid in place is 11.5" — enough depth to house the MP155 pump and plumbing without restriction.

Key installation requirements:

• Level, compacted base: The basin must sit on firm, level ground. Soft or unstable soil can allow the basin to shift under the weight of the columns, risking tipping.
• Load capacity: The RBH29 supports up to 300 lbs with its two integrated center support columns. Ensure the columns are positioned on the support structure, not the unsupported lid areas.
• Water access: Top off the basin with a garden hose as needed. Evaporation will lower the water level over time, particularly in hot or dry conditions.

The HBK3KSL's 6" and 12" columns are core-drilled with a standard 1¼" (32mm) hole end-to-end, but they do not have the 1⅜" enlarged socket that the 18" column has for the LED8B light ring. The LED8B's barbed ring is designed to seat in the 1⅜" enlarged section.

The HBK3KSL is designed as a low-maintenance water feature. Regular upkeep involves:

• Water level: Check the RBH29 basin weekly and top off with a hose as evaporation lowers the level. Running the pump dry will damage it.
• Pump cleaning: Clean the MP155 pump intake screen every few weeks by removing the pump from the basin, rinsing the impeller housing, and removing any debris. The pump's built-in adjustable flow control makes it easy to service in place.
• Algae: Some algae growth on natural basalt is normal and can enhance the natural appearance. EasyPro-compatible fountain treatments are available to control algae in the basin water without harming the stone.
• Seasonal: Follow the winterization steps for cold climates (see winterization FAQ above).

Yes — EasyPro specifically notes the Tranquil Décor keyed spillway basalt series is "perfect for creating a bubbling feature in a landscape or indoors." The self-contained recirculating design means no outdoor water source is required; the basin simply needs to be topped off periodically.

For indoor use, consider the following:

• The RBH29 basin is 24"W × 29.5"L — plan adequate floor space and ensure the surface can support the weight.
• Use a waterproof liner or tray under the basin for splash containment on finished floors.
• The MP155 pump (5W) is very quiet and energy-efficient, making it suitable for interior spaces.
